Aus DeFi: Empowering the Blockchain Community Down Under
Harnessing the Power of Blockchain
As a non-profit community organisation, the Australian DeFi Association (Aus DeFi) holds a key focus on nurturing the knowledge and awareness of blockchain technology. With a broad reach covering an array of web3 topics like DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and more, Aus DeFi stands as an influential force in Australia's emerging tech landscape.
Aus DeFi's ambitious vision centered on fortifying its community presence, fostering regular events, and making waves in Australia's vibrant tech arena. Committed to a grassroots ethos and a freemium model, they sought to create an inclusive platform for all, attract powerful partnerships, and continue to inspire a knowledge-thirsty community amidst a challenging bear market. Determined to transcend the conventional meetup group image, Aus DeFi aspired to offer more robust support to those armed with web3 tools.
Strategic Action Plan
NotCentralised launched a comprehensive, multi-faceted strategy to bolster Aus DeFi's standing. With initiatives focused on invigorating Aus DeFi's social media presence, organising impactful events, and forging alliances with innovation hubs like Stone & Chalk, they also sought meaningful collaborations with blockchain enterprises to foster mutual growth in the web3 sector. NotCentralised offered their full-fledged support to Aus DeFi's mission, leveraging their expertise in community mobilisation and growth.
A Hands-On Approach
NotCentralised seamlessly implemented a slew of initiatives, championing Aus DeFi's outreach via platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Discord, and Meetup. They also laid the groundwork for partnerships with international entities such as Seoul Web3 and Web3 Wednesdays Singapore, continuously expanding the network to other cities and countries. NotCentralised stood as a primary sponsor and driver of various events and community activities, propelling Aus DeFi to the forefront of Australia's tech scene in a remarkably short time.
While meetups sometimes led to fragmented conversations as attendees returned to their separate workspaces, NotCentralised harnessed the power of partnership to address this. In collaboration with the established startup ecosystem Stone & Chalk, they co-founded the Web3 Innovation Centre, thereby creating a hub for continuous blockchain engagement. This, coupled with sponsorships from various blockchain startups, provided the necessary venues, catering, and equipment, crucial to the heartbeat of Aus DeFi.
In just over a year, Aus DeFi achieved remarkable milestones. This includes having a meetup presence across 7 cities across Australia.
As well as cultivating a robust following on social media, hosting a series of successful events, and established the Web3 Innovation Centre in alliance with Stone & Chalk in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. NotCentralised helped Aus DeFi's expertise get recognised at a Federal Government level with Commonwealth Treasury seeking assistance in engaging developers for crypto industry regulation consultation. This stemmed from the strong showing of NotCentralised director and Aus DeFi co-founder, Arturo Rodriguez at previous government focused roundtables.
Aus DeFi continues to leave a mark in the web3 and crypto community and extends its influence into the corporate and institutional sectors migrating to this space.
NotCentralised has also helped Aus DeFi obtain special guests at their meetups whether its the CEOs of major blockchain companies like Fireblocks or StarkWare or local heroes like former Services NSW Minister, Victor Dominello.
Impacting a New Age in Technology
With NotCentralised's support, Aus DeFi has made phenomenal strides in promoting blockchain technology and web3-focused projects in Australia, catapulting the country into the global blockchain spotlight.
